Art For Justice Portraits

Art For Justice Portraits

This project started with George Floyd’s death. I was filled with so much rage and despair over his murder that I felt compelled to do something. Yes I’m an old white woman, but I care. One thing I can do is paint – so I’m painting! Black victims of society or the police, heroes like John Lewis and RBG who are no longer with us — people who in my opinion should be remembered. There is something special in my opinion about honoring someone in a painting.

Anyway, I’m hopeful that we can start shifting as a society and realize that black lives matter — and create a country that honors us all – no matter what our skin color, religion, economic class, whatever!!
