About Me

Resume shot

I am an artist.  It’s taken me a long time to finally say that — 66 years to be exact.  But I love to paint.  People, landscapes, still lifes, dogs, etc.  I love the discovery of what happens with colors, light, brushstrokes … bottom line is it makes me happy.  I’m hoping that some of my paintings will give you some joy as well.

I also love to teach painting.  I do a three day workshop “Alla Prima Portraits, using the Zorn Palette”.  I love to see the lights come on for a student and their excitement about that.  I also teach palette knife painting in plein air.

I went to college in Fine Arts ages ago but did not pursue it as a career.  Everything but — graphics, stained glass, silk screening, hand painted clothing, faux finishing and murals.  But in the last 15 years I’ve come back to  painting.  I’ve worked with a number of amazing teachers who taught and inspired me.  I think it’s a never ending process — always something to learn.  And what a fun process it is!!!
